Hi Alex,
Just wanted to say thanks for the book and sharing your knowledge and experiences with me. Some of it dovetails with what I already knew, but a lot of it is entirely new. There are things that I cannot discuss because of national security and numerous NDLs I had to sign. I will give you some insight by referring you to fact based films that contain slices or entire segments about the subject. And I will refer you to certain information that us cops in my area had to dig out by risking our lives to do so. Some of us cops got fired. Some disappeared without a trace. But you need to know this.
Let’s get started. Back in the 1980’s we noticed the then new phenomenon of mass shootings. We never saw that before. Several of us began asking hard questions because these incidents did not fit the usual homicide profile. There were no apparent motives that we were familiar with. Moreover the suspect, usually killed himself-no opportunity for interrogation or to develop new leads.
So we asked around. That pissed off the highers in some departments. We wanted to know why. A detective with the King County Police that I got to know well, who later broke a double murder case that took me 10 years to solve (related to the Ted Bundy serials) became a mentor of sorts. He later got fired by his department. We shared notes and my life changed forever.
It would take me years to provide you with all the details. I don’t have the time. So, let me give you an outline and you can do your own research and arrive at your own conclusions without my influence. I prefer to do this as you can make up your own mind as to the truth.
